The 2007 Dodge Caliber will be profitable despite a sticker price of less than $14,000, says Judith Wheeler, director of Dodge car marketing.
The Caliber carries a base sticker of $13,985, including shipping. That price is $410 less than the outgoing Dodge Neon, Dodge says.
The new hatchback offers new four-cylinder engines, standard side airbags and optional all-wheel drive and continuously variable transaxle, Dodge says.
Selling the Caliber in global markets and developing derivatives from the vehicle platform creates a profitable business case, Wheeler says.
